Description

Polis Hideaway is a comfortable stone house, with a secluded pool enclosed by stone “castle” walls, tucked away in a private lane just leading to our 3 villas. There are banana, fig, olive and palm trees in the gated garden, and there is private parking. Polis Hideaway is uniquely situated within Polis Town itself, close to an excellent selection of shops, restaurants, bars, banks etc. from 1 mins walk. Polis square, (2 mins walk)  has a fantastic selection of bars and restaurants including favourites Moustakallis and Finikas. There is something for everyone here, and a lovely laid back atmosphere too.

The sandy beach is approx 15 mins walk and there is a regular bus service to Paphos and Coral Bay. View from Polis Hideaway
Latchi harbour and sandy beach is 5 minutes drive.

We have 2 villas here. Polis Castle and Polis Hideaway. Each villa has its own private pool and garden.

Although Polis is classed as a town, it has a “village” feel to it and has many attractive renovated properties. To give you an idea of its size, you could walk through Polis in 15 minutes. It is still extremely “Cypriot”, with most restaurants and shops being run by the family. Cheaper to eat out here than in Paphos, and the restaurants are all in hot competition to serve you the best food and give the friendliest service. Many, like Mosfilo Taverna (150m) serve the traditional specialities, like delicious kollo kassi, afelia, stifado etc. (Cooked by the owner’s mother and relations). Even simple food like stuffed tomatoes tastes wonderful due to home grown local produce being used.

The Akamas National Park is nearby, and offers beautiful countryside and uncrowded beaches, all protected from development. These include sandy Lara Bay, where the turtles nest, and Chrysochou Bay, which offers mile after mile of quiet beaches alongside citrus groves, with a dramatic backdrop of hill

Testimonials for Polis Castle/Hideaway updated July 2010

Dear Irene,
We had a wonderful relaxing holiday at Polis Castle. We're a family of mum, dad, teenage son and younger daughter and the villa was a perfect size for us. The villa was clean and well equipped. We loved the pool and the courtyard garden. When we arrived the welcome pack far exceeded anything we've ever had on our previous holidays. The owners Dimitri and Zoe were absolute stars, they were unobtrusive but right on hand if anything was needed. Zoe came along one morning to supply us with freshly baked pastries which were delicious and fresh figs on another day. They really are very nice people.
We've been to Polis numerous times in the past although this was the first time in 6 years. We were delighted to find that it's still very unspoilt and cypriot. Lots of nice restaurants but our favourite by a 100 miles is Moustakallis, not only fantastic food but Andreas and his staff are real characters, nothing is too much trouble.
We are really impressed with the service we got from Sundance Villas, everything sorted with no fuss and no hard sell. We will definitely be back and will be recommending Sundance to anyone that will listen!!

Hello Irene,

We had a lovely holiday, got a bit warm as there was a mini heatwave, but not complaining, forced us to sit around and dip in and out of pool.

Everything was as you said clean and hamper on arrival. Asked for more towels but not a problem. Zoe and Dimitri are very welcoming hosts, nothing is too much trouble and Zoe loves to feed you with her homemade breads, lovely. Also as we had an evening flight they let us stay all day as there was no-one else coming in, which was so helpful to us as it meant we could relax and shower and go when we wanted.

Car hire was easy and Nick from Cy-Breeze was there to meet us. Met Eleni (Sa Buneri Taverna at Simou) who gave us lovely cake with our coffee - nice spot overlooking dam. Villa very convenient for eating out, which is why we chose it as did not want to drive a lot. So thanks as all went very smoothly.

Hi Irene,

Just thought a little e mail was appropriate to let you know what a fantastic time we had at Polis Hideaway!

Right from stepping off the plane, to getting back on again, everything was perfect!

Our taxi was waiting for us in arrivals and we arrived at the villa.....it was just as we expected and as we were promised.....a perfect little hideaway!

We wanted originally to go to Coral Bay but took your advice and opted for the gentler, quieter holiday. Good call! The wife is already scouring your website to see which villa we can return to and it looks like it might be pretty soon!

Could you pass on our thanks again to Dimitris and his wife Zoe as they were brilliant hosts....(not that we saw much of them but comfort to know they were there if needed- and Zoe's snacks were awesome!).

We usually opt for the expensive hotel holidays, which are ok if you like communal dining, communal swimming, sun bathing etc etc...........never again! We have very hectic lifestyles and at last we can honestly say, we have found the perfect way to relax!

She wants to know what's available at Christmas now!!!

Many thanks again.....we will be in touch soon!
