Hello Irene,
Re Repeat vist to Villa Aphrodite after 5 years
"An artistically and lovingly decorated 2-bedroomed villa in our favourite spot in Cyprus...on the Akamas peninsular, near Aphrodite's Pool." It is close to one of the best and least crowded beaches..particularly in June! The villa was better than we remembered! Charroulla has made it a home from home with so many lovely items! Also so well equipped. Two minor drawbacks, which only really would affect 4 adults...only one bathroom, and a far from powerful shower. Another suggestion would be ceiling fans in the bedrooms...but only because, like a few brits, we hate air-conditioning, which the villa of course has. Other than that, the villa is very well equipped. We particularly admired the plentiful large thick towels and embroidered sheets! Socrates visited soon after our arrival and brought us a meal his mum had made.
Of course the villas being built to the front are new, but they don't spoil the view.
The path down to the beach is as before too, and the beach totally unspoiled, despite the taverna at one end and the hotel at the other. It's so vast most of it remains empty! The garden is very private and the pool clean.
We were genuinely delighted to find the whole area has not really changed much in 5 years...just "tidied up" in places, and more holiday homes, but all fitting in with the landscape.
Many people remembered us which was great! (or should we be worried?)
Apart from the first and last day there, which was cloudy and windy, the weather was as hot as I remember from our last visit in August.
Polis is the nearest small town, which has a delightful central area of small shops and tavernas. Do go to Moustakalis restaurant...he and his father don't seem to have aged in 10 yrs+, and their moustaches flourish! The food and service is superb.
The taverna close to Aphrodite's Pool has good food and a lovely view, but can get busy with coaches etc. Aphrodite Beach taverna is a delight for a cool place to sit, eat and drink on a hot day, and one can swim and sunbathe there too. Latsi, the closest village, is great for stocking up, with a few "supermarkets". It's virtually hidden harbour has so improved from our first visit! There are tavernas/restaurants all along the front. Sadly there are now 1 or 2 folk who pop out as one passes to lure one in. This has the opposite affect on us!
The drive through Polis and around the bay to Pomos is lovely. Go to Kannelli's (not sure re name) taverna over a small beach and harbour. Then over the mountain to Kato Pyrgos (SP?) and the N. Cyprus border. Again we were treated as friends where ever we went. The owners are building a 4 bedroomed villa next to Aphrodite.
I'm sure it will be stunning! I would recommend both villas.
The building noise (essential pipe laying) was a nuisance, but no blame to you or the owners at all.
In fact Michael was great to contact you, and we appreciate you phoning, and offering us another villa.
We did look, and liked it, but as you know, we chose Aphrodite villa because we know it, and love where it is.
Charoulla and Socrates drove all the way from Limassol the next day..they were so concerned!
I don't know what Socrates did or said, but there was only further noise for a few hours the next morning, and then it largely stopped.
Please tell Charoulla and Socrates, also Michael, that we really appreciated their help and concern.
Hope to go back soon..

Dear Irene
We did enjoy our holiday very much in Cyprus although it was “very hot” which we did not expect for June!!
Regarding the villa, we were absolutely delighted with the location especially as we like to swim in the sea every day... we would like to say that Dimitri, Anu (the pool man) and the cleaners were extremely helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
In conclusion we had a great time and look forward to returning to Cyprus on some other future occasion.
With Kind Regards

Dear Irene
We returned from Aphrodite Villa last week and I just wanted to let you know that we had an amazing time.
The villa was wonderful. The location was tranquil and stunning and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to anybody who requires a restful holiday.
We enjoyed the sights and hospitality of Cyprus and are hoping to return in the future when we will certainly be trying to book Aphrodite again.
Thanks and regards

Dear Irene,
Just a quick note to thank you for recommending this fabulous property to us. As you know we had visited the beach previously on a day trip, so it was really wonderful to have it all to ourselves. On a couple of evenings, we took our bottle of wine and a picnic to the beach then deserted, and had a gorgeous swim in the warm sea, then laid under the starlit sky, we could not ask for more....

Hi Irene
Well we are back and had a lovely peaceful time. The views were wonderful, the weather glorious and the pool refreshing in the heat - just as you promised!!
The villa interior has obviously been upgraded since your photos were taken and the new furniture downstairs was very comfortable.
Oh, and thank you for the bottle of champagne - a lovely thought!
